Term of Hire

General Notes

All prices are exclusive of GST.
Combo hire: When hiring an excavator, you have the option to select a combo, which includes a Tipper and a Skid Steer or Posi Track
A minimum charge of 4 hours, plus travel, applies to all vacuum truck and wet hire jobs
Weekend/night shift minimum: 6 hours + 3 hours next-day tipping (next day tipping is only charged only if required).
Travel is billed from depot to depot based on the unit’s hourly rate, starting from APU’s Yatala yard.
Rates apply during standard business hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Work on public holidays is charged at an additional $60.00 + GST per hour, on top of the standard after-hours rate.
These rates apply only to APU-owned equipment and may vary depending on availability at the time of hire
Quoted rates are valid for 6 months

Tolls: A flat fee of $17.38 + GST applies for any toll roads used during the hire period

Fuel levy: A fuel levy of 10% is applied to the standard hourly rate for vacuum truck hire

Cancellations:

APU reserves the right to charge a 2-hour minimum for cancellations made within 1 hour of the scheduled start time.
For after-hours work, a 4-hour minimum charge may apply for cancellations made within 12 hours of the scheduled start time.
Service Commitment: APU is committed to delivering equipment as requested; however, late cancellations impact availability for other clients.

Vac Truck notes:

Jobs requiring vacuum operation more than 30 metres from the unit will require an additional operator and hose trailer.
Waste Disposal: Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for off-site waste disposal.
Safety Recommendation: It is strongly recommended that all vacuum truck operations be accompanied by an offsider to support safety, act as a spotter, and enhance productivity.
Drain Cleaning: In most situations, drain cleaning is a two-person task and will require an additional operator
Any jobs working with biological hazards incur an additional charge of $70 per hour on top of standard rates
Some jobs may be subject to a 6% Environmental Levy

Dry hire notes:

All hired machines must be returned cleaned and refuelled; failure to do so will incur charges as part of the off-hire process.
End of Hire Notification: It is the hirer’s responsibility to notify APU Excavations and Rentals when equipment is no longer required, regardless of any pre-agreed hire duration. Failure to provide notification will result in additional charges.
Transport charges are calculated based on the distance from APU’s Yatala yard.
Refuelling: Machines returned without a full tank will be refuelled at $3.50 + GST per litre.
Insurance Requirements: If the hirer cannot provide plant and equipment certificate of currency, a 10% surcharge will be applied for the use of APU’s insurance coverage for the duration of the hire
Damage Liability: Any damage caused to APU equipment during the hire period will be charged to the hirer at the hirer’s expense
